Daily Affirmations

Life’s fundamental questions are: Who am I? Why am I here? and Where am I going? God has given the answers in the Bible. For those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the answers are wonderful, deeply affirming, and sometimes challenging. Try stating these affirmations daily and see how your perspectives change.

Many of these affirmations are adapted from “Victory over the Darkness” by Neil T. Anderson.

Do you truly believe this about your Condition and Nature?

• You have died and are risen with the Christ and hidden with Him in God (Col 3:1-4)
• You are a partaker of the Christ; you share in His life (Heb 3:14)
• You are a new person created in the likeness of God to be righteous and holy (Eph 4:22-24)
• You are a holy partaker of a heavenly calling (Heb 3:1)
• You are a saint (I Cor 1:2; Eph 1:1; Phil 1:1; Col 1:2)

Do you believe in your Relationship with God that you are?

• You are a new creature (II Cor 5:17)
• You are born of God, and the evil one the devil cannot touch you (I Jn 5:18)
• You are a child of God (John 1:12)
• You are a child of God and you will resemble the Christ when He returns (I Jn 3:2)
• You are a son of God; one with all believers in the Christ (Gal 3:26, 28)
• You are a son of God; God is your Father (Rom 8:14-15; Gal 3:26; 4:6)
• You are an heir of God since You are a son of God (Gal 4:6-7)
• You are a joint heir with the Christ, sharing in His inheritance with Him (Rom 8:17)
• You are a citizen of heaven, seated in heaven right now (Eph 2:6; Phil 3:20)
• You are a fellow citizen with the rest of God’s family (Eph 2:19)

Do you believe in your Relationship with Christ that you are?

• You are the Christ’s friend (Jn 15:15)
• You are chosen of God, holy and dearly loved (Col 3:12; I Thess 1:4)
• You are chosen and appointed by the Christ to bear His fruit (Jn 15:16)
• You are a member of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession (I Pet 2:9-10)
• You have joined yourself to the Lord and are one spirit with Him (I Cor 6:17)
• You are part of the true vine, a channel of Christ’s life (Jn 15:1, 5)
• You are a temple of God. His Spirit dwells in you (I Cor 3:16; 6:19)
• You are a member of the Christ’s body (I Cor 12:27; Eph 5:30)

Do you believe in your Purpose in Christ that you are?

• You are a slave of righteousness (Rom 6:18)
• You are enslaved to God (Rom 6:22)
• The Christ  is your life (Col 3:4)
• You are God’s workmanship handiwork born anew in Christ to do His work (Eph 2:10)
• You are the salt of the earth (Matt. 5:13)
• You are the light of the world. (Matt. 5:14)
• You are reconciled to God and are a minister of reconciliation (II Cor 5:18-19)
• You are a son of light and not of darkness (I Thess 5:5)
• You are one of God’s living stones, being built up in Christ as a spiritual house (I Pet 2:5)
• You are a brother or sister of all who follow Jesus? (1 John 2:9)

Do you believe in your Relationship to the world that you are?

• You are an alien and stranger to this world in which you temporarily live (I Pet 2:11)
• You have an adversary who seeks to devour you,  the devil (I Pet 5:8)
• You are not the great ‘I am’ (Ex 3:14; Jn 8:24, 28, 58), but by the grace of God, You are what You are (I Cor 15:10)

Do you identify with the roles God has Called You to?

• You are a respectful and honoring son or daughter of your parents? (Eph. 6:2)
• You are a leader, lover, protector and provider of your wife? (Eph 5:23, 25-30)
• You are a respectful and submissive follower of your husband? (Eph. 5:22-24, 33, Titus 2:4-5)
• You are a patient and loving leader and instructor of your children? (Eph. 6:4, Titus 2:4)
• You are a faithful, encouraging, and contributing member of the church of Christ? (Heb. 3:13, 10:24-25)
• You are a generous, patient, and caring employer? (Eph. 6:9)
• You are an honest, hardworking, and obedient employee? (Eph. 6:5-8)
• You are a respectful, submissive, and tax-paying citizen? (Rom. 13:1, 5-7)
• You are a generous helper of those in need? (James 2:15-16)
